I usually start my seeds in mid February in those mini plastic greenhouses and an assortment of seedling six packs and lot's of plastic cups. Pretty basic and inexpensive. I don't presoak any seeds, just put them into the starting mix and keep them moist. All these go on or near electric gro-mats in a heated room/closet. This year the back bathroom became my "greenhouse". My DW thinks I'm crazy.
