I've been looking at pictures, and I think your friend was thinking of the Tien Tsin pepper. However; the Tien Tsin pepper is a little skinnier than those in your picture. Your peppers also look alot like Scotch Bonnet peppers (also obscenely hot). Although, Scotch Bonnets are a little shorter and rounder than the peppers in your picture. So... I guess I stand by my previous post... that I believe your peppers to be the Ghost Peppers.
