You would do the same thing just make sure you keep the lights close to the plants if you are using fluorescents.
This will prevent them from getting leggy.
Use the standard size lights 4 feet long NOT the skinny ones.
I think 8 foot lights are too cumbersome to use my self, just try and pick up all of the broken glass after you break one.
4-to-6 weeks is about right.
