Even if technique is good, and it's tricky, timing is everything emasculating blooms and also temperature is a big factor fruit don't set well in heat and other stresses of any kind can cause a plant to drop blossoms and small fruit too. Keep trying and also dip in pollen twice, about 12 hours apart. I do not try to store pollen I only use it directly after collecting it
