Vladimir, I apprediate your view.

Tomato varieties are at times very confusing to me. The names change. Or names are used more than once. I have learned that keeping the source attached to a packet of seed is important.

As a newbie to tomatoes, I depend on the aucrracy of the packaging label. I am still learning the nuances of a tomato plant.

Growing varieties named the same side by side seems to be most useful.

As you said , a mess.

Breeding horses is easier as we use DNA for identification. Not so easy with tomatos.
