The fruit I use, when frozen, is in pieces, or not bigger than a regular ice cube size more or less. And unless you are abusing it, I'm not sure how you would burn out the motor; the vitamix is the same machine used in many commercial places.

About the only thing I haven't liked making in the vitamix so far was hollendaise sauce.
