Biggest one I ever saw must have been 50 gallons or more at a store they wanted $100 for it back in the late 60's.
It was taller than me.
My mom's eyes glazed over when she saw it.
I dont think it would have fit through the door of the house or in the car (station wagon) to get it home.
On the way home that was all she could talk about.
What on earth would a small family even do with such a thing but sell the product from it.
One of the crocks I was looking at is sold out.
A whole section of them is sold out.
About two years ago they had a fermenting get together in Austin.
All the neo hippie new age types turned out.
One made a statement like it was new or something.

In the old days every village and town had a potter to make these things.
