I haven't grown zhiraf.
Since you're doing an experiment, why don't you see if they respond to a hot water bath.
Since they are longkeepers, select 10 ripe tomatoes. Mark 5 with X and 5 with an O.
Run a pot of hot tap water 125 degrees F.
Place the 5 X tomatoes in the pot with a saucer on top to hold them down for 5 min.
After 5 min. remove the tomatoes and let them rest on the counter for a week.
After a week taste one of the X tomatoes and compare it to one of the O tomatoes.
Repeat every other day and post the results on your thread. Claud
