The mealy texture can be controlled to a point by never overwatering. If the tomatoes are grown outdoors (Not in a hot house) and it rains too much and too often - the tomatoes are going to be mealy. I haven't found a variety that this doesn't happen to.

Cherry tomato varieties that my family really likes a lot:
