We just eat them like candy. There's different types of Kumquats, some are sweeter than others. Worth is right about eating the skin too, most of them are bitter but the skin is the sweetest part.
I think this is a 'Fukushu' tree, they usually get about as big as a golfball and last on the tree till late spring. I snack on them when I mow grass, every time I ride by the tree I have to snag a few.
