The in-ground tomatoes were a "happy accident". Had the Landscaper remove old bushes, etc. to clear out an area for some flower plantings. However, the irrigation system ignited seeds from winging old tomatoes in previous years flung back in those bushes. Needless to say when I saw the volunteer plants growing nicely over the past month, I figured it would make a nice late Season crop.
Sometimes, it is better to be lucky than good....
