Congrats! The long wait is over. As Jeff has said, the tomatoes will most likely improve as the season moves on. The first tomatoes are usually somewhat bland and disappointing. If you cut back on the watering as the fruits mature, the flavors will intensify more. This will also help to prevent the mealiness that you complained about. This is one of the drawbacks of container gardening but once you figure it out, it is not much of a problem.
