Just noticed this thread. I need to renovate a koi pond when I'm off work in a month or so. Really like your waterfall and edible landscape. I'll have to keep it in mind.
I'm planning to put around it some blueberries,chard,kale, watercress, mint,lemon balm,Rosemary,lavender and ginger. I'm not sure what else. Maybe some potted citrus,to go into the greenhouse for winter. Some artichokes and maybe cardoons?
How about sweet potatoes, scarlet runner beans, and flamingo beans,season depending?
Elephant garlic,leeks,chives and other alliums,for sure.
I'm hoping to find some more pretty,perennial fruits and veggies for that area.
