The ideal pH for eggplant growth is from 5.5 to 6.4.

Leaves are curling you say?

Did you check the undersides of the leaves for aphids?

Those little buggers suck the sap out of the plants quick enough to stunt their growth.

I grow only the variety "Black Beauty" and thus far my 6 plants have yet to put out a flower up here in Massachusetts.
