Hayse, generally the logpods are planted earlier and they often overwinter, they have 8 seeds, the short pods are often used later as they mature faster and have 4/5 seeds.There are some crosses of both too.

There are a couple of varieties that have longpod in the name..Imperial Green Longpod is one.

If you have found one even generic that says longpod on it, it will be fine..
