Yes, I've had their soup. (It's good.) IIRC, the avocado is chopped and added after cooking, so essentially raw. Avocado turns very bitter when heated past a certain point. I do see a very few recipes, e.g. mashing into muffin batter and quick grilling under-ripe ones, but you will note that there is no canning recipe for avocados.
