Thanks Dak, using black plastic in the vegetable garden is a really big help even the place still feels like labor camp, since we rarely have time to relax there.

My city garden is quite a mess, because I had to relocate flowers from the side of the house due to roofing work. I put all lilies in big tubs, where they luckily survived and are blooming. I should make a new bed for them away from the house, but that is still in the planning phase.

I knew spring time that this summer I can not have so many flowers on window boxes by the house and balcony, so I tried selecting colorful veggies for my raised beds. Cabbage moths ate my red kale, but lettuce, fava beans and peas look great.
