Another suggestion is to buy organic potatoes from the store and let them put out sprouts.
Even the non organic ones will do it after awhile.
Cut the potatoes up so each piece has at least one eye.
Set these pieces out cut side up for a day or two to skin over and plant you will be good to go.
Then each year keep some potatoes back in storage and do it all over again you will never have to buy seed potatoes again.
