Sorry MrsJ, those puny coated cages would be useless for my tomatoes. I've got peppers that would fit them, but not tomatoes. I went out in the hottest part of the day and measured the temperature of my concrete wire cages and they were the same temp as ambient. I have never seen any heat related issues from the cages I use.
