I dont know if they do,but hopefully someone here can answer that,given that they arent an actual true gooseberry (Ribes grossularia),i cant see why they wouldn't grow in the tropics.
If i had some seed i could send you some but even though i grow them every year i dont save seed, instead i pot up small volunteer plants that grow as weeds in the Autumn,winter them over in my tunnel/hot house till spring, then plant out after the last frost
