In past years, my Shish*tos have been invariably sweet, no heat at all. But it must depend on unknown growing conditions or stresses, because this year about half have at least a twinge, and some have more than a twinge, of heat to them. That hasn't stopped me from downing between a quart and a pint of them every day for lunch, though! Man, I like those things! BTW, my Padrons are consistently too hot for me to eat, almost all of them! When ripe and dried, though, they make a nice spicy powder.
