I am afraid what we see about India is by far not even close to what the country is like.
These folks have been saving seeds breeding plants and into agriculture for much longer than our country has even been around.
Thousands of years.
A world super power at the very hub of world trade.
At one time it was against the law to import/smuggle cotton cloth and clothing from India to England.
If caught it was a death sentence or imprisonment.
While these folks were wearing fine cottons and silk the folks in England were forced to wear scratchy wool due to protectionism of the sheep farmers.
