Thanks, glad you've enjoyed the book. Obviously variety recommendations are subject to change on a yearly basis. I have a bunch of tomatoes with names written on the shoulders or ugly blossom ends, to taste and I try to sample 3-4 a day. We took our own Bigley (Orange Jazz) slices to Whataburger today and had them "hold the tomatoes". A great burger with a great tasting, home grown tomato is hard to beat. We usually do this through the drive through but we were very sneaky about it this time--not sure if you can bring your own condiments into a burger joint.
