Tops of plants froze
Hi everyone --
I had a greenhouse disaster on mothers day and lost a ton of heirloom tomato plants, but some did make it, but barely. The tops of many of the taller plants froze but the rest of the tomato plant survived. I have been nursing these "sticks" since then and they are starting to fill out from the side shoots quite nicely. Each plant had 4 or 5 sets of leaves when the top died and I am wondering if it is even worth it to keep these plants going? Am I going to get any tomatoes from them? These are all heirloom varieties and I would be happy to get just a few tomatoes from each one, just so I can taste them. Your thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks. |

If there are side shoots coming along, they'll do fine. You might get a little later harvest than you otherwise would have, but you'll get something.
