Default Kalibos red cabbage

Every year we grow this wonderful heart shaped red cabbage from Czech Republic here. This year Kalibos cabbages were even bigger and smarter than before. More than a half meter in diameter and they look like really big roses...

Andrey-Nice looking cabbage! Since I live in the desert, we grow our greens from now till late April. So I am growing spinach, radishes, kale, chard, all kinds of cutting lettuces, rucola, valeriana, etc.

We could have such desert here as well without adding manure

Tom, we extremely adore salads from Kalibos. This cabbage is so tasty and crunchy.

Oh, that is so pretty! I'm growing Perfection Savoy which is pretty too, but not nearly as colorful as yours. You're right, it looks like rose opening up.

Funnily enough - I have just had a new 2007 catalogue come through the door from (Plants of distinction )and whilst browsing through it -I straight away noticed Kalibos listed, and they said it was an excellent cabbage resurected from the past.

will be growing that one for sure in 2007

I wish they would sell cabbage like that here.
All they have at the store is the basic round ones and they seem to be small this year.

Hi-Worth1, I might well be giving Kalibos a try this coming spring, but the company never send out seeds before the end of the first week in february- if you like I could probably share the seeds with you, or could get you a seperate pkt of them in exchange for a few tomato seeds of interest, then you could try Kalibos yourself and maybe save seeds from it for future use if you let one or two run to seed.
