How many plants?
Hello you experienced breeders,
I will be growing out F3 selection(s) next year and my question is, how many seedlings should I have of each selection to grow out in order to have a reasonable representation of that selection? 10, 20.... etc I guess in light of my relatively limited space, I am asking what you would consider to be the minimum number. I have space for about 60 plants in total but I have several selections I would like to grow out. Thanks, Karen |

it is somewhat arbitrary number, but I'd go for 8 plants as a minimum, and hope to find what I am after. If not, there is always the next year to grow more seeds.

Thank you very much Tania, I was hoping 10 was enough. That gives me some room to work.
