Tobolsk
Tobolsk was one of my favorites when I grew it a few years ago, so I grew it again this year to see how it compares. I finally got some large tomatoes without BER this week, and it's even better than what I remembered. Sweet and juicy! I ate a Sweet Ozark Orange for comparison, and the Tobolsk was even sweeter than SOO.
I see it described online as a yellow tomato, but in my gardens, I'm getting just about the same shade of orange for Tobolsk, Sweet Ozark Orange, Orlov Yellow, and Zolotoe Serdtse. |

I noticed with both Orlov's Yellow and Yoder's German Yellow that I like them a lot better after they turn orange.

They're all big plants. It's hard to judge productivity because it has varied so much between my three garden sites this year; they seem to be about the same.
I haven't eaten them all at the same time, but it seems that Sweet Ozark Orange is the creamiest and Tobolsk is the sweetest of the three. |
