Something like this would make me so happy. Please update as much as you can without causing undue distress to the chicks.

Not a cardinal. We will try to identify the bird a little later with some pictures hopefully, as I'm not sure either. The same bird species has nested annually in my tunnel tomato crop for at least the last 20 years.

Sign me up, that is so cool!!!

I think birds have been in my friend's tunnel as well - the doors are off and there's some sign of a little foliar feeding if you know what I mean.

Mom's plants outdoors have a wooden support we tie them up to, and the birds perch on it and foliar feed for her daily.

I actually thought something had happened to the mother bird last week because she had not laid anymore eggs. All of the nests in my plants in the past have always had a clutch of 4 or 5 eggs. I checked all last week and no mother bird, and only 3 eggs. I once started to remove the nest, glad I didn't!

I watered the plants this afternoon, and whilst the pump was running I decided to check once more. To my surprise, the mother flew from the nest as I parted the foliage and this is what I discovered! Turns out she had been incubating the three eggs..

Very cool! Just saw that our little ones in the Mortgage Lifters have hatched today, too. There were 4 eggs but not sure whether they're all out, yet. I didn't want to get too close!
