I planted a couple of cubanelle peppers this year to see what they were like. I don't know anything about them. At what point do you pick them & how do you prepare them for the table? Maybe I should research these unknowns before I commit garden space to unknown varieties, but it sure is fun seeing some of these things grow.

I treat them just the same as a standard bell pepper. Great flavor.

The cubanelle peppers have been some of the most productive peppers in my garden over the years. Very reliable. They're just a smaller sweet bell pepper.

They can be picked anytime you think they are big enough. Typically a cubanelle pepper will be around 5 or 6 inches long and a yellowish green in color. You can let them turn red. I find any frying pepper to be sweeter than bell peppers and much prefer them. I like to fry them in oil and make pepper sandwiches out of them.
