isuhunter's 2017 garden thread
Well its official, its the year of "downsizing" the tomato grow list. I'm taking more of a square foot approach to the garden this year.
2016 allowed me to perfect my tomato cages and stick with a design for more than one year. Critique my layout. There is a tree that sits just north of my garden so the north side is a bit shadier than the south side. |

Nice looking garden. I too use a modified square foot garden approach. I find it maximizes production per unit area I have to work with. Keep us posted on your potato method.

Some updated pics. Been busy planting something about every night. After watching the rabbits I decided a fence was needed. I hate fences but they destroyed my garden last year.

I don't have a bagger for my new mower. What do you guys suggest I mulch with?

You can mulch with leaves if you can find them still or go buy some straw. It is fairly cheap to use.
The gardens look great and you have a couple of nice helpers too.
