Default First Tomato Tasting Of The Season

The first few regular sized tomatoes were ready for tasting yesterday. Honeysweet Savior (Honigsüsse Erlöser) is in the middle, Purple Russian at the top and Early Annie at the bottom.

The Honeysweet Savior is really dense and meaty with a somewhat sweet flavor. I think there are seeds in there somewhere. I'll have to look for them in the next one that ripens.

This is the Purple Russian. I was a bit disappointed as it had no real tomatoey flavor. By looking at it one would think it would be rich and wonderful. Not; it's rather bland. It won't be repeated.

Early Annie was grown last year for the first time to see if it could be added to the early lineup. There's nothing special about this one and will be dropped going forward.
