Default Japanese Tomato Tree

Here's the first fruit almost ripe on the vine. The SSE yearbook lists this as an RL but mine is PL. Ami

I sent Reinhard Kraft an e-mail concerning the leaf type and here is his answer. Ami

I've got "Japanese Tomato Tree" from BELR BA A. From 10 plants, 6 were pl. The tomatoes were alike in all respects.

patty_b, good to know. I got my seed from Manfred Hahm who gets seed from Reinhard. Hence my e-mail to Reinhard asking what he got for leaf type as he grew JTT in 2007. I love it when these PL's pop up like KBX. Ami

Ami - good pictures as always. Yes, I remember I sent JTT seeds to Reinhard as extra, but not from my own harvest. Just from a seed package I've got in a trade with someone and thought it would be good if Reinhard try them because I had no room as usual...

Andrey,

Can you tell me more about this tomato? What is the original name and where did it come from? What should be the correct lead type?

I have seen it listed as 'Japan Tomato Tree' and 'Japanese Tomato Tree'. Which name is correct?

Japan Tomato Tree is listed at SSE Yearbook as regular leaf by IL LO N. Neil got the seeds from NY BE S in 2002.

Thank you very much,
Tania

Tania, really have nothing to add. I can't track my supplier of this vareity because I didn't fo that before this year. Probably I've got it from one gardener in Sweden. We had a seed trade in 2003 or 2004. I will try to find out this.
