Wolf Pack is my working name for this line. The goal here is a colorful, great tasting, long keeping fruit (Pink Furry Boar keeps really well). The fun side effect was that the F2's presented me with an embarrassment of riches.
![]() The parents -- Pink Furry Boar- http://www.wildboarfarms.com/images/Pink-Furry-Boar.jpg (Mine looked just like Brad's pic, almost a true white background) Very good flavor, though not very meaty (big locules) Ananas Noir -- Super classic, pretty tri-color, great flavor Here's the F2's: ![]() ![]() JL 2. One of two I'll be carrying forward. The pictures don't do it justice, truly, truly beautiful. A bit "fuzzy" too, which was one of the thing's I'm looking for (fuzzyness and long keeping seem connected). ![]() ![]() ![]() 7-5. The other one I'm carrying forward. Looks and taste for days. Keeping time, average, but hoping to improve that. ![]() ![]() JL 6-6, #3 choice, If I had more space I'd do this one too. Kept well, excellent taste. ![]() JL 4. Kind of a unique pink and white bicolor. Very sweet, and quite large. But the texture was off - soft and mushy. Could be the HUGE ammount of rain we had. I'd for sure carry it forward if I had more space than I do, but you've got to make choices.... If anybody's interested, I definitely would be happy to send out some seed. ![]() ![]() JL 6 and JL 7. The looks were there for 6, but the taste was weak. ![]() JL 1, 3, 4, 5 and 7 ![]() JL1 ![]() JL 7 ![]() ![]() Good looks, good size, fuzzy, but bland taste. Another one with potential if anybody's looking to experiment ![]() 7-4 ![]() 7-6 Good tasting red, but there's enough red tomatoes in the world. ![]() ![]() 5-5 and 6-6 As with any of my breeding projects, I'm happy to share seeds provided people post their results here and send some seeds from the good segregates back home. ![]() |

Hi Paddy,
I'd love to get the Jl2, 4 and 6 if you have seed to spare. I'm in Canada if you're willing to send this way. Cheers! |

From JL2 -
Some of the very best tasting 'mater's I grew this year. Long lasting, meaty, and complex, as well as fuzzy and long-keeping. I'm proud of this line. ![]() ![]() ![]() FY 7-5. The "Peach", This one is a go for sure! Really great taste, and looks pretty unique. Also very meaty and low-seed ![]() ![]() FY 7-5 and FY 7-7. 7-7 is the second best. Quite sweet ![]() ![]() One of the rare volunteers were you know exactly what it is. Also the biggest fruited. |

L-V. Very nice pink. Many were 6 to 7 oz size. Good flavor 8/10. No splitting.

Were they meaty, or did they have hollow locules? I really like the color of that one. Did you get a range of shades, or were they all pretty dark pink?

they were meaty and juicy. No hollow locules. Perfect texture as well. Not too soft. Very consistent coloring. All the same shade of pink.

Since Natural posted his, I thought I'd better post mine.
From last years FY 7-5 "Peach" -- ![]() FY 6-8 (on the left, underripe in the front, ripe in the rear), and FY 6-5 6-5 was the 2nd earliest, with good flavor. FY 6-8 was the earliest and had great flavor. Both of these will get carried forward. ![]() ![]() FY 6-4 Extra fuzzy. Taste 8.5/10 ![]() L-M The round shape was a bit different from the other "peach-type" segs. ![]() FY 6-11 and FY 6-13 Both bigger, fuzzy, and not as tasty as the others (though still pretty good). ![]() ![]() FY-M (6-1 I believe, the writing wiped off) Much bigger than the others, though the latest to ripen. Taste 8/10 This year's F4's from other segs -- ![]() PFA FY 6-17 yell/red Str, pira, T6 ![]() FY 6-24, 6-25, 6-23, 6-20 6-20 was productive, had an awesome bicolor interior, pretty good taste. FY 6-24 -- good flavor. The others didn't get saved. |

I like the peach segregate. Looks very similar to the L-V with respect to size and texture.
