Here are healthy Black from Tulas maturing nicely in a root pouch #1 (minor mildew fight ongoing)
And some lemon cucumbers #2, which led to lunch #3 |

Black from Tula takes longer to ripen than any other of the tomatoes I grow but it is worth the wait. It is one of my favorites.

It's someone's real dog, fan of Chewie here.
Lemon cucumbers are now top of the list for me. And indeed, I'll wait as long as is necessary for those Tulas. The plants continue to grow and set fruit at a great rate. Trusses w 6-10 orbs being the norm. I was so pleased with the fruit set that I've gone from 4 to 10 Tula plants. |

Wow! Really nice fruits going on there. Yours are way ahead of mine. Do you know at what stage you are going to pick them? Have you ate them before? I wonder what they will taste like?
Those cuckes are too cute. : ) Do they have a lemony taste to them or are they called that just because of the shape? |

Agreed. If they actually look like lemons (very yellow and round) then they are over matured. I even see a lot of seed catalogues showing pictures of overripe lemon cukes But a pale green, thin skinned lemon cuke sliced with just a touch of salt is a thing of beauty

I hope they taste great, they've been fed a pretty decent and varied diet.
1st time growing Tula, and since there are going to be plenty of them, I'm sure I'll arrive at the sweet spot. I've heard they don't keep well, so use 'em or lose 'em will be the mandate. And as Worth mentioned, they taste great. Nothing to do with a lemon other than general appearance and namesake. A combination of lemon juice, salt, and/or chilli powder really brings out its flavor. They are looking good Gerardo, hopefully you won't have to wait much longer.

Gracias Paul. Waiting patiently.
And I agree on the lemons cukes. The green, slightly anorexic ones with thin skins are bursting with great flavor. |

Your plants look great. What size root pouch are your growing the Black Tula in?
Off to look up Lemon Cukes, Pick when they look like a lime? |

Those 3 Tulas are in a 20 gallon root pouch.
The lemon cukes taste really good right before they start getting the yellow tinge. |
