Hello, I have been gone awhile. My garden was ravaged by raccoons for three years, so I didn't have any garden for awhile. They even ate the tomato plants. We saved up, bought a house in the mountains of Virginia on 10 acres. We are starting over! So excited! Looking through the forum it looks like a lot of tomato changes. What have I missed? I see Brad Gates has been breeding lots of new tomatoes. I'm not sure what these creme tomatoes are, but look they look cool. Can you fill me in? Thanks
Lindsey

Welcome to the Blue Ridge Mountains! We live in Floyd. Haven't had much of a raccoon problem here, just groundhogs and deer.

I was hoping to hear some updates on the dwarf tomatoes. Overwhelmed looking at the posts, like boy I have missed a lot. Any high light varieties come to mind?

We were out by SML lake. Now we are in the Roanoke mountain area. We love going to Floyd. Beautiful out there. Ground hogs are real bad where I am now. We are probably going to put chicken wire underneath the whole raised bed garden to keep them out. Putting a high fence up to keep deer out.

Thank you! We are excited but not sure how different it will be to grow on the top of a mountain. Sun and wind and all that. We've always been in valleys before this.

Welcome back!
I'm not sure how long Marsha (Ginger2778) has been doing her seed offers but they have been great the last 3 years, so you may want to participate ![]() http://tomatoville.com/showthread.php?t=46557 Multiflora varieties have become more and more popular within the last couple of seasons with one of them (Rebel Alliance) being offered in Marsha's offer! Here's some decent threads regarding multiflora's: http://tomatoville.com/showthread.php?t=34658 http://tomatoville.com/showthread.ph...ighlight=flora http://tomatoville.com/showthread.ph...ighlight=flora If my links don't work for you just include the "www." in front of the "tomatoville.com.... part.. Dwarf Metallica seems to have gained alot of attention due to it's taste grade (my impression) but I don't think it's been released yet.. http://tomatoville.com/showthread.php?t=45928&highlight=METALLICA Craig just posted about the Beauty line of the Dwarf Project which looks interesting and might could have been a large project all by itself outside of the enormous Dwarf Project! http://tomatoville.com/showthread.php?t=46580 There's a micro-dwarf project going on that is being led by "dfollet" or Dan, and there are several members who are growing indoor micro's year round which I find interesting and there's even multiflora micro-dwarfs now! http://tomatoville.com/showthread.ph...ighlight=flora There are a couple of members from Spain that are sharing Spanish varieties, some of which are multiflora and so several people are growing varieties from Spain: http://tomatoville.com/showthread.php?t=33133 http://tomatoville.com/showthread.php?t=34658&page=8 KarenO has been developing along with Marsha's help her own "KARMA" line of tomatoes which are mostly (or all) potato leafed tomatoes that grow well in the PNW: http://tomatoville.com/showthread.php?t=38529&highlight=karma New Varieties include George Detsikas Italian Red, Sweet Ozark Orange (SOO), Girl Girl's Weird Thing (GGWT), Not Purple Strawberry, Not Chocolate Stripes or I mean Mocha Splash, Rebell Yell, Elgin Pink, Garnet and Dotson's Lebanese Heart which was found while growing out Omar's Lebanese. And many more I'm sure, most of these are in Marsha's offer (or were in the past). And I'm sure that there's lots of other stuff that's happened but I'm either forgetting or leaving out.. Carolyn's latest offer just went up last night, with lots of tomatoes offered, many of which are mostly unknown this side of the pond. I'm helping her this year with the dirty work of stuffing envelopes.
http://206.214.211.133/~tomatovl/showthread.php?t=46788 It's in the "Available for Trade" forum. Shawn

Wow! I knew I'd get the low down. I hadn't heard of that one. I'll need to grow it for sure. I like weird.
