Tom,
The wicking via capillary action is a delicate balancing act to achieve. On the one hand, you want a medium that will enable the moisture wicking, yet you need to make sure the medium is porous enough for oxygen to penetrate to the root system. Your best bet is one of "trial and error" using materials locally available to you. Coir would seem to be a good candidate to start with. Raybo |
