My fall planted garlic is finally looking better with new growth. A few snacks of Miracle Grow and recent lack of hard frosts have really helped.
I almost did a really bad thing. I had planted out about six cloves on March 5 at the end of a bed just as a test to see if they'd make with a spring planting down here. I forgot about them and when putting row cover over the bed I put two bricks on the cloth on that end to hold the cloth down... right on top of the garlic planting! ![]() After an "OMG!" and removal of the bricks, there they were, pale and about 2" long, bent over. They've since recovered, no worse for the wear, I guess. ![]() |
