First watermelon to germinate and it is a Bradford! I may try hand pollinating, bagging blossoms, and saving seeds when things progress later in the season.

Yay they actually sprout. Im so glad for you as 20 of the ones i had did not sprout.

Yeah, I read that earlier in this thread. That stinks! I might do some hand pollinating and bagging of blossoms. If it works out you are welcome to have some seeds heirloomtomaguy.

Well.....I usually just pull off 3 or 4 male flowers and rub them all over the inside of a female flower but because this time I am wanting to make sure that a Bradford female flower only receives pollen from Bradford male flowers, I am going to have to research the correct way of doing it.

Did you ever harvest Bradford watermelon? I saw the seed on their distributor's website and was wondering if the melon lived up to its marketing.
