I grew Sunny Boy next to Lemon Boy, and I couldn't tell them apart. Sunny Boy is supposed to be determinate, but I picked off of it all summer.

I like Orange Slice better than either one. Productive and very good sized.

I looked online and see that Bonnie's Plants sells the plants so if I see them at the big box stores I'll snag one (not that I have any more room, but I can maybe squeeze in another pot somehow). Otherwise I'll get around to buying the seeds next year. Where did you all get yours? Totally Tomatoes? Not many places have them.

I got mine from the local HEB grocery store in town as plants. They are grown locally here in Texas by whom I do not know. Worth |

Hey Worth, last night after I logged off here and checked my email, there was a $5 birthday coupon from OSH so I went today and guess what the very first tomato I saw was? Yup, Lemon Boy! And it was the only one. It looked like it was a Bonnie Plant that was repackaged by OSH. It was in bad condition, pretty sickly looking but I figured it was fate so I got it. Sheesh, it was $4.99 too! Waaaaaaay overpriced. But it was free so what the heck. I have never paid over $1.50 for a tomato plant, and I almost never buy any either as I grow my own.
So I yanked out a tomato that was doing poorly and did not taste so good either, and planted LB. This LB had a short truss with 5 little toms on it so I cut that off as the plant was only about 6 in. tall. Needs to grow and catch up with the others. Thought I'd let you know what a coincidental thing this all was. |

For this current season, I was seriously looking for some gold/orange/yellow tomatoes.
One of the varieties suggested was Lemon Boy. But I chose Azoychka and Kelloggs Breakfast instead. I did not have enough garden spot for more. So far Azoychka is doing much better than KB. Depending on the outcome Productio, taste), I might grow Lemon Boy OR Golden Jubilee the next season. Gardeneer |

in my garden, Orange Slice which is a Burpee hybrid makes many more tomatoes than KB and prob avg 12oz...but the taste maybe not the same. My neighbor thought they tasted great. Its as close to a yellow/orange Big Beef as I have grown.

I love Lemon Boy - it's almost the only hybrid I ever grow besides Sungold. I don't like it as well as KBX etc., but it is a nice lemony yellow color, good taste, productive - and the color provides a nice contrast to the others.

Yet again I picked a Black Prince that was covered in stink bug bites and a lemon boy that had none.
Could it be the color fooling the bugs or something else? Worth |

I hate to be the only one, but for me there are far better tomatoes to grow than lemon boy. Everytime i grew it it produced well but what it produced was cracked meh tasting tomatoes. Sorry i wish i could like it but with 3 years of growing it with the same results i will never grow it again. Alright now let me hear how im wrong.
