Azul Toro Potato? ( pic )
I received a sampler pack of potatoes from Tom last year and didn't get them in the ground until late and thus I didn't get much of a harvest. The potatoes I did get are about golf ball size.
I have one potato that I think should be the Azul Toro variety ( if I kept up with the labeling correctly ), but the skin color is more of a red than the deep inky color I've seen in other pictures. It was my most vigorous growing potato. Does this look like it is an Azul Toro potato? |

No, that is not Azul Toro. The following picture shows an example along with it's mother...Negro Y Azul. BTW, I am offering free TPS from the Blue Rose to many of my customes. Blue Rose is a cross between Nordic October and Azul Toro.

Thanks for the responses. Hmm, I was afraid of that. Not sure how I mixed those up. Must have had my hills too closely spaced when I grew them out.
Tom, are you selling Azul Toro? I'd love to get another start. BTW -- I have about 160 seedlings from those TPS I got from you going now. They are about 2 weeks old. The TPS varieties are: Gold Caesar Reiche Tom 1st Boy Yungay Boys Will Be -- Daniel |

I have some tiny pea to walnut sized tubers of Azul Toro.....and I may include some in my sampler boxes...
I dare not list tuber availability until I can get a handle on TPS and tomato seed orders. And...I have to have better mobility than I have now....I can't imagine the horror of listing tubers and not being able to fill orders within days...instead of the weeks and weeks it would probably take. |

I hope you feel better soon too. With the great response of TPS and Tomato probably is better you hold off on tuber offers until you are better since there is still 1-2 months until that time except for the guys in the south.

So far I have been in almost daily pain from gout related swelling in both feet for several months. So..yes...I will delay even offering potato tubers until I know I can fill even one....I have been trying to get a sample of tubers to a friend I worked with nearly 25 years ago, and that is not going well.
With so many potatoes yet in the field and no ability to walk in the field...let alone digging...who knows what is going to happen? |
