Dar Jones up at 2AM to feed the baby, reminded me of my friend who has a wood burning stove to heat his entire house and his stove is designed to use wood burning pellets. Put a bag of pellets in the hopper and the stove does the rest, injecting pellets as needed and works beautifully. I am building a greenhouse at home (not finished, ran out of time) but thanks for talking about wood heat and your post reminded me of my friends stove. I have no gas only electric on my property. I have not calculated the cost of electric heat but a wood burning stove sounds good.

Wood heat is the best, hubby wants to get one of those pellet stoves for the garage here.... a friend of ours had a house that was heated with it, he said the worry for fires and stuff was way down from the ordinary wood stove...
I would never go electric unless I was buying and could put a wood stove in, I hope to someday have a wood cookstove as toast tastes so good on it lol this stove here doesn't have a place to cook over open flame dang it!!!

We thought about using a pellet stove for the greenhouse but the cost of the pellet stove even a used one is expensive. There is also the cost of the pellets that adds up.
We heat our house with one and really like it. Hill60 |
