Default Mangan F1 Eggplants harvest

We have planted some Mangan F1 last year, we have let it grow in the summer to see how it's heat resistance according to Bahrain's summer ( Reaching above 50C, around 120F ), and we have entered Autumn.

Today's morning I have harvested some eggplants, and I wanted to share some photos with everyone.

With that much heat these eggplants must've come off the plant hard boiled! (lame joke)

Two questions:

1. How was the taste?
2. How did you cook them?

1. This batch haven't been used yet, plus I didn't taste Mangan last year, so i'm not sure about their taste, my mother usually the one who loves eggplants, I've just asked her about them she doesn't recall the taste.

2.Usually she is the cook, so when it comes to eggplants she either steams them, oven grill, use them in some type of stew or gravy.

This time I will taste them, and see how are they.

Sorry mdvpc about taking a while to reply about the taste,

Today we had them roasted with other veggies,
and they were so yummy, they had a small amount of bitterness

Thanks for the update! I am curious what other eggplants you folks grow in Bahrain. Our favorite is Kamo.

You're welcome

Here they usually grow Black Beauty, but it usually depends on the market and farmers do like hybrids.

The farmers are happy with the following hybrids:

Takii
Black King F1

Indo-American, Link to list:
- Supriya
- Sourabh
- Suchitra
- INDAM -540
- Green Ground

Last year we have introduced Mangan F1 from Johnny's, it went to mostly home gardens, and they loved it.
Farmers on the other hand are afraid of change, so they didn't try it.

Kamo looks awesome, and sounds Yummmy
