Default Lentils

Does anyone grow lentils? If so, what variety?

I grow the standard lentils from the dry bean section of the grocery store as a green manure. They germinate just fine. They grow more vigorously at first than the peas I sow with them. I haven't bothered trying to use them as a food crop for us.
