Default A List and Thoughts

Below you will find a list of tomato seeds that I have amassed during the past year or so. Less than two years ago, I could say that I had grown about 15 tomato varieties over 4 years time...and then came Tomatoville. (Sounds Halloween-ish)
I want to give back to Tomatoville by growing some varieties, saving seeds, sharing those seeds, and well, you know being a Tomatoville member.

The list is to show what I have available when I ask your opinions over the next couple of months. I think of all of you as friends that I would like to get to know. That is why I share so much with Tomatoville and you.

Robert, that is some impressive collection.
Several years back I thought that tomatoes are just RED.
Didn't know what OP, Hybrid, Heirloom, determinate, indeterminate .... are Until i joined another message board/site. Right now , probably I have/grown close to 50 tomato varieties and have seeds at hand and still expanding. Some I will grow again some won't but for some reason I keep the seeds.

From your list I am tempted to try a few. Actually 2 of them are on my 2016 grow out list . Here they are:

INDIAN STRIPE ##
INDIGO CHERRY DROPS &&
NEW BIG DWARF &&
OLD GERMAN ##
--## always wanted to grow
-- && In my 2016 list

i can donate some (limited quantity) if needed ( maybe 30 varieties or so, some of which are already in your list)

Hi Salty; Glad to see I am not the only person who has gone a little haywire collecting. Great list!

Just 2 years back, I had read that starting tomatoes from seed was too expensive and took a heated greenhouse. At that time, gardening was just a hobby to keep me busy so I wouldn't dwell on the pain from the nerve diseases I have. The people here have been a very positive influence for me.

It feels good to be alive again.

Yo Salt, are the red ones the seeds you desire? If so, I have some spare Ace-55 I can send your way. Save the slot for something else. PM w address and away we go.

Thanks Gerardo, the ones in red are the ones I put on my wish list for the MMMM swap. I'll let you know if I receive them in the swap or not. A lot of the ones on that list are older varieties of market and commercial types. Some are from the 1800s.

I was thinking of all the times I've read where people talk about that "Old fashion" tomato taste. Then I thought, "How are we going to know what old fashion tastes like without growing some and trying them?" Also, since they are commercial and market tomatoes - they probably keep a little longer as well. That's why there are varieties like Acme, Livingston's Paragon Red, Marglobe, and Quarter Century to name a few - on my list.
