You know they come in different sizes and shapes. I wonder if there is something good about this one?

It was put here for some reason?... or it evolved here for some reason? Any replies - I believe in both questions. I chose to give this one a chance.

There's a ladybug that hangs out on our kitchen bar. She/he has been here for about a week. I first found it with a cobweb stuck to its legs. I carefully removed the cobweb and he or she has hung around ever since. There is something about nature that tells me that I need to learn how to help it.

I guess I should add a few details. I want to see what exactly this stink bug does to the tomato in the jar. That way I'll be able to diagnose what is going on in the garden better. Often times, I only see the results and not what caused the problem.

The real question is, what did you name him? Seriously, though, it would be interesting to see how much damage just one of these guys can do on its own.

For myself, I've taken to referring to the large colony of black soldier fly maggots in the compost as my new pets. But don't tell my cat, she's the jealous type.

I just checked and this time, the tomato won. I didn't use any pesticides on the tomato. I wish that would happen every time one lands on a tomato.

This morning features the alive stink bug on the tomato again... Last night, the bug was on its back just barely moving its legs - as if it was dying. Maybe that's how they sleep? ... or playing opossum? So if you see one upside down - squash it.

The brown stink bug is an invasive species from China. The green ones are native to North America, and taste much better to birds, who hardly eat the brown ones.

I've only seen the brown ones here.

Now I can see what they do to tomatoes...
