So, I am reading in my seed to seed book that cucurbits will cross with any other plants in their SPECIES. So meaning, if I only grew one variety of cucumber, no other cucumbers were grown, that seed will be true?
I did grow muskmelons, and watermelons. As well as squash. So I just want to be super sure before I grab that big yellow cuke out there I'm not gonna get something super weird next year! Thanks guys ![]()

Not necessarily. The cucumbers won't cross with any other cucurbit in your garden. However, if you have neighbors nearby that are growing cukes, you might get a cross between yours & theirs. I've had crosses appear in seed from squashes grown in my rural garden, where the nearest neighbor is 1/4 mile away... but no crosses (yet) in my cukes.
