Purty pics!. . Around thirty years ago I took an old man fishing a lot and he'd say , remember 1943 when all these hills, pismo area, were artillery placements dug in to repel enemy invasions we're here? I wasn't born yet but I'd say "yes".. There's reportedly still munitions scattered around in that area. Just north of there in Morro bay they claim they received enemy fire of some sort during WW2. I don't know what type or if anyone was injured.

Think of it in terms of people being visual, who develop an aversion to reading. Another group to consider are those with minimal to non-existent English, this could encompass tourists, not just the other knee jerk-politically charged tangent. And believe it or not, there's still a few people who are illiterate.

They lived through it and remember. Munitions all over the place in S. California, you have to think of them as rattlesnakes, only you don't thump the ground for them to say hello.

The only enemy action on the West Coast was the few balloon bombs that made it over. No damage and IIRC nowhere near inhabited areas. But everyone's got a story...

You are right. I didn't think of people who are illiterate, and I knew better. I have a cousin who is basically illiterate.

This open park is only a couple of miles from my house. Back in the 80s or 90s two young boys (10-12 years old) were up there exploring and were badly injured when they found some live shells half buried in the ground. They wanted to do what boys want to do - take them home as treasures! I doubt they would take the time to read the warning signs, so pictures are probably needed. As I recall, that's why they put up the warnings all around the area (it's a very large open space park).

It isn't the first time this has happened to me.
This woman and I grew up with each other she was my oldest brothers step daughter.
And at one time very good friends not the we ever stopped being friends but people move away from each other.

Worth, we got news like that tonight. One of my wife's friends passed away. Jan had driven her to the ER a couple of times in the past year or so. Called 911 to check on her once. Each time was due to the friend taking too much medication.

I am sorry for your loss.

I am sorry for your loss.
Sorry for yours too and thank you.
Brenda was more that friends we loved each other like you could never know.
We weren't kin to each other in blood.
My wife knew it and her husband knew it.

Brenda predicted I would come riding up on a Harley with a beautiful red head on the back.
Not soon there after that prediction came true it was Nancy my wife.
I cannot express to you all how much this devastates me.
Brenda was a life long friend from childhood on up.
We loved each other in ways that cannot be described.
I am going to give David her husband a call tomorrow and express my sympathy to him.
David and I as little boys used to drill wells with sticks.
I have known him all of my life too.
He is a fantastic guy.
Her mothers family and her husbands family and my family have known each other since way before either one of us were born.
Her mother Mary Ann was my oldest brothers wife before he died and she was one cool lady.
She let me have the run of the kitchen growing up and even after I was grown up.
She died of cancer some time ago.
Her and my oldest brother Dean went to school with each other.

I remember one time back in the early 80's I called her and told her I was coming to Thanks Giving dinner and not to put the food up.
I was over 300 miles away.
4 hours later I came waking in the door.
I drove the speed limit from Mason Texas to Lampasas but was running around 165 MPH from Crane to Mason county in my old 68 440 Chrysler.
You should have seen the look on their faces when I came driving up.
What the hell did you do fly here.

Good Times.

Thanks. Phone from a relatively new company and I dig it, m4Excite, two thumbs up on the bang for the buck scale. If they make it stateside, consider them.

Worth, I'm so sorry for your loss. From the sound of it, she was a heck of a lady. May her name and memory always be a blessing to you.

Gerardo, those photos are gorgeous!! I can't believe they came from a phone!
