I walked into a Panda Express for the first time in my life today and walked right back out.
I have to uphold some sort of personal dignity when it comes to food.
If you like it fine but not my cup of tea.

Worth.

But Worth, it's real Panda in those dishes.
There's nothing Asian about Panda Express.

Looks like a good candidate for food poisoning to me.

Curious as to why you would say that, Worth. We've eaten at PE lots of times over the years when we were out and didn't want 'burger something'. They make the dishes up fresh and there is always lots of turn-over so they don't sit long.

You deserve an answer and I will be as honest as I can.
I hope and know your place is just fine.
These places can differ from one place to the next.
I dont trust them and I know what goes on in the kitchens I have been in too many of them.
The Chipotle in one of the Austin locations got a boat load of people sick some time ago.

I simply got a bad feeling and didn't like the looks or smell of the food.
Enjoy if you like it.

The door bell rings it must be those people again.
I look out it is two teenage gals so I answer it.
They are looking for canned soup for the food pantry.
Regretfully the food pantry wont take home canned goods and that is all I have.

I can understand that. Not everyone cans safely and it would be too much of a risk.

Default 18 Miles.

18 miles north is all it is from Bastrop to Elgin Texas.
But what a difference it is.
Both are the same distance from Austin but Bastrop has grown leaps and bounds over Elgin.

I stopped at the HEB in Elgin the other day and the people were totally different.
They looked to be very poor most rather elderly and very tired.
The younger people looked over worked and under rested.
Elgin has a huge Walmart I have no idea what it is like inside.

Bastrop on the other hand has all sorts of people running around from all walks of life.
Even a few Hipster looking folks.

I stopped at the HEB in Elgin to get pasta and by darn I walked past it twice before I saw the little selection they had.

Leave it to me to find something else to eat.
Nut grass nuts are edible and the yellow nut grass tubers are very tasty.
