This year I didnt have good luck germinating (Louisiana Green Oval) eggplant seeds, so I decided to purchase a couple of plants called( Louisiana Green Round), the local nursery couldnt tell me if it was OP/Heirloom or hybrid. The fruits are slightly larger than a softball and seem to be producing fairly well.
Hopefully, someone can give me more information than the nursery. thanks |

They look like Thai and Cambodian eggplants I've seen. Similar to matti gulla types I've seen, too. Never heard of Louisiana Green Round. Maybe a new variety? Or a renaming of an Asian variety?

I have not grown Louisiana Round Green but have grown Louisiana Long Green many times. From what I've seen at seed sellers web sites that I frequent, it is an OP variety. I think Baker Creek offered it a couple of seasons but not sure if they do now. Your pics show the different shades of green on the skin and that's something I've seen with LLG, as well.

I just went to the Baker Creek website and I didn't see the LGR listed, but I have grown the LLG before and they did quite well.
