Here we go, finally got the sweet peppers in and I decided to use some plastic mulch again since it did seen to keep the roots warmer on the tomatoes. Well see how it goes.

I tried some and it was actually very similar to spinach. I need to find a way to vine it up the trellis now. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1367204258.267864.jpg |

Cran,
Everything looks great! I especially like the lettuce and spinach pics. I've never grown/eaten Red Malabar spinach before. Looks like I'll need to put it on the grow list for next year. Good job! Lyn |

Thanks Lyn, Yeah it took a bit for the Malibar to get going but its begain branching and growing an in or two each week. It likes more heat, but I think it will do ok, it looks healthy. It supposedly vines and trellises very easy so you could create a wall of spinach like vine growth. You harvest the young leafs.

Babers!
well I throw out some granular ferts (jobes organic) prior to planting when I add the steer manure. Then around June i begin with the fish emulsion, Bokashi juice as a drench. I also add molasses as a foliar when I spray with my neem, actinovate, and exel lg. that's it. FYI I'm in love with my drip tape on timers. It's relieved so much time watering. |

Oh man sorry to hear James. The weather on the east coast has been strange this year. Seems like last year was a short cold season and from what I've seen you folks have been having sporadic cold weather fronts moving through.
Hope you can plant out soon! James, the peas were amazing and very worth the grow. I'm going to do another batch In the fall. I just ripped them out last week due to powdery mildew but I had a fair amount of ROI. |

I think this is more normal weather with last year being the anomaly. I planted out the 15th last year and it looks like it will be just about the same.
Every year I plan to go out early and never do! Glad to hear the peas were worth it. My peas are starting to take off and I had the same issue with mildew last year ending them somewhat early. |

Yeah I haven't planted yet either. Boo. Putting stuff out during day but, for example, have to bring them back in tonight cuz going to get to around 36. Am keeping the toms and peppers under grow lights when I bring them in.
